POST COVID SYNDROMES AND RISKS

COVID 19 is a infectious disease caused by NOVEL CORONA VIRUS(SARS COV2 )

Symptoms of covid 19 include fever with chills,cough,sorethroat,loss of smell,loss of taste,difficulty in breathing,headacheand rare symptoms include nausea,vomiting,diarrhoea

Complications of covid 19

Moderate to severe covid may develop complications like pneumonia,respiratoryfailure,cardiovascularillness,thrombosis in lungs,thrombosis in arteries or veins in different parts of the body,seizures,stroke,kidney failure and post covid syndromes

Post covid syndrome is uncommon after asymptomatic or mild disease.It is common after prolonged covid illness ,after prolonged hospitalization,after ICU care.

Post covid sequele include persistent shortness of breath at rest,persistent low oxygen levels,acute respiratory distress syndrome,atelectasis,pulmonaryfibrosis,thrombosis of blood vessels,impaired mental function,critical illness related myopathy and neuropathy,cardiomyopathy,joint stiffness and pain,postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome,persistent anosmia,post traumatic stress disorder,difficulty in falling sleep,difficulty in maintaining sleep.
